About

Made to emphasize the unique beauty inherent of different minerals, Melissa paints through the alphabet one mineral at a time. Using acrylic, gouache, salt, alcohol, sugar and other experimental techniques, she aims to capture the tactile in each mineral. Her shop features giclée prints and has recently stocked bespoke mineral wrapping paper. She also plans to launch her own stationery and textile lines based off of her mineral portrayals.

A printmaker at heart, she thrives on the tactile. You can find her with a chop-saw building furniture, rockhunting in the desert, in vintage shops looking for furniture to revamp, in the studio painting or binding books, or in the Silver Lake Hills of Los Angeles walking with her kids Maizie and Zorin and their dog Odin. Seeking beauty and inspiration, Melissa offers a fresh take on the everyday mundane in every project.
